Library

VLAA maintains a reference library for use by artists, arts administrators, and volunteers. The collection includes sample contracts, periodicals, and books on arts management and the law, as well as information about artist live/work space. A computer with Internet access is also is available for use.

Thanks to the cooperation of the Municipal Library Consortium of St. Louis County, VLAA's library catalog is searchable on the web. The e-catalog contains the holdings of nine independent community libraries in St. Louis County: Brentwood Public Library, Ferguson Municipal Public Library, Kirkwood Public Library, Maplewood Public Library, Richmond Heights Memorial Library, Rock Hill Public Library, University City Public Library, Valley Park Community Library and Webster Groves Public Library. The books in VLAA’s collection are listed in the location field.

Our collection contains several hard-to-find resources, such as Entertainment Industry Contracts, edited by Donald C. Farber. This 10-volume set contains expert guidance on drafting and negotiating contracts in the major areas of the entertainment industry including motion pictures, book publishing, television, entertainment software, theatre and music.

Located in the Regional Arts Commission's building, 6128 Delmar, the library is open to the public during regular business hours and by appointment on weekends or during the evening.
